The Troy Architecture Program on Friday announced its first new executive director in 46 years.

Barbara Lynne Nelson will take over from Joe Fama, TAP's first executive director and its first employee, who helped found the organization in 1969.

Nelson, a licensed architect, planner and public art advocate, has practiced architecture for 35 years. She has a special interest in urban place-making, community design and participatory public art.
